The perfect course if you are interested in a basic introduction to safe sea kayaking, and at the same time experience our unique fjord. The course is in Ålesund
The 4 hour introduction course in Ålesund qualifies participants for a paddle pass, issued by the Norwegian Paddle Association, as proof of the participant’s basic competency in a sea kayak. Our courses will be held at beautiful locations in our region, creating motivation and great experiences.

- Lifting, carrying and launching the kayak
- Correct sitting position and paddling technique
- Forward paddling
- Stopping
- Turning the kayak
- Backwards paddling
- Wet exits and rescuing

Upon registration, participants receive a list of all the clothing and equipment necessary for the course.

Minimum number of participants are 2. If there are too few, you will be offered to reschedule or join one of our other tours. If you decide not to reschedule or join another tour, you will be refunded.
Cancellation
If trips are cancelled by Uteguiden, either due to extreme weather or too few participants, the cost of the trip will be refunded in full.
