The Norwegian city of Ålesund is known worldwide for its unique Jugend architecture and narrow, charming sea channels. It's almost as if the whole city is floating in the waves and now you can experience Ålesund from its very best angle!
Our guided kayak tours in Ålesund are beginner-friendly and specially tailored for families. Our guides warmly welcome you and take you on a unique journey through Brosundet and around the surrounding area. The guides provide insight into the city's rich and exciting history and of course, we will stop at several places to study the architecture, boats, local life and wildlife up close. There will be plenty of opportunities to take unique photos!
You meet at our activity center at Notenesgata 3 in Ålesund. This is simply a perfect starting point for kayak tours. We go through the equipment we will use and have a brief safety briefing before getting into the kayaks.
Seasonal Information
The Classic Kayak Tour in Ålesund runs from May to October. From November to April, this tour is not available due to winter conditions.
During the winter season, we instead offer our popular Winter Kayak & Sauna experience – a unique combination of guided kayaking through the beautiful Brosundet canal and relaxing in a warm waterfront sauna.
It’s the perfect way to experience Ålesund from the sea, even in winter.

Tour Facts
• This round trip starts and ends in the center of Ålesund.
• In total, we paddle around seven km.
• The tour will be adapted to each group and current weather conditions.
• This is a great tour for families and beginners or those who want to experience Ålesund in a unique way.
• You do not need any previous paddling experience.

• Wind and waterproof jacket for better warmth and comfort.
• Warm wool/fleece sweater.
• Hat and gloves are good to have on cold days.
• Sun hat, sunglasses and sunscreen are recommended if it’s sunny.

Restrictions
• Average physical fitness.
• Minimum age of 5-years-old (by the end of the calendar year).

• Sober (it is not allowed to consume alcohol before or during the tour).

All our prices are dynamic and may change based on request, season & availability.
Cancellation
If trips are cancelled by Uteguiden, either due to extreme weather or too few participants, the cost of the trip will be refunded in full.
