This is the trip if you seek excitement, like to challenge yourself, are in above average physical condition and are comfortable with climbing in steep terrain.
The West wall route is a real challenge
While climbing upwards along the steel wires bolted to the mountain you will get a magnificent view of the Romsdalen valley. The climb is exposed, vertical and thrilling, as well as including an airy bridge crossing. Our professional guides will take care of you throughout the whole route and make sure that you are properly secured to the mountain by the cable.
The route is graded to difficulty level D on the international via ferrata scale. The return trip from the West wall passes the tailored path Romsdalstrappa, with a break at the popular viewpoint platform Rampestreken.
We recommend the use of rubberized gloves when climbing via ferrata. Book them in advance or buy them at the Mountaineering Centre.
Nice to know:
- All technical equipment is provided
- Minimum age: 16 yrs/40kg
- Maximum weight: 120 kg
- The climb takes 5-6 hrs from we walk from the centre until we are back again there
- Suitable shoes can be rented for 195NOK
