About the experience

Geiranger, located in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Geirangerfjord, is one of Norway’s most stunning natural wonders, and kayaking here offers a remarkable way to experience its beauty.

Join us for an unforgettable extended kayak tour in Geirangerfjord, one of Norway’s most spectacular fjords and home to the legendary Seven Sisters waterfalls.

This is a longer and more demanding fjord adventure for those who want to paddle further into the UNESCO-listed landscape and experience Geiranger from water level — away from large sightseeing boats and crowds.

A True Fjord Expedition by Kayak

Your journey begins at our activity center below Grande Fjord Hotel, where you’ll meet your guide for a safety briefing and paddling instructions before launching onto the crystal-clear waters of the fjord.

From here, we paddle steadily deeper into Geirangerfjord, surrounded by:

- Majestic mountain walls rising straight from the sea

- Lush green slopes and historic fjord farms

- Fresh fjord air and dramatic reflections

- The famous waterfalls: The Seven Sisters and The Suitor

Unlike the shorter 3-hour tour, this experience allows us to paddle significantly further into the fjord and, weather permitting, closer to the waterfalls with their impressive streams cascading down the mountainsides.

Sitting in your kayak beneath these towering waterfalls is a powerful and unforgettable experience.

Stories, Nature & Local Traditions

Throughout the tour, your guide will share interesting stories and facts about the area, local traditions, and the history of Geirangerfjord as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We take natural breaks along the way to capture photos, rest and hydrate, and fully enjoy the stunning scenery.

The route is always adapted to the group and current weather conditions to ensure both safety and the best possible experience.

Who Is This Tour For?

This is a longer fjord kayak tour best suited for guests in good physical condition who want a more active experience.

You do not need previous kayaking experience, but you should feel comfortable paddling for several hours.

This tour is ideal for active beginners, experienced paddlers, adventurous travelers, and guests who want to paddle further than the standard tour.

All guests paddle in stable tandem sea kayaks, providing both comfort and safety.

If you prefer a shorter and easier experience, we also offer a 3-hour fjord kayak tour that is suitable for most visitors.

There is a free shuttle service from Geiranger to Grande Fjord Hotel.

The tour will always be adapted to each group and current weather conditions.
