Trolltunga Summer Hike
It is no wonder that Trolltunga is on your bucket list. Experience some of the most scenic viewpoints Norway has to offer. Together with your guide and your travel companions you will have a fun, impressive and stressless day - the highlight of your holiday! We call our tours to Trolltunga “summer” from May to November because either the snow has started to melt or it has already disappeared in some parts. Please note that there is a price difference at the beginning and at the end of the season as more hiking gear is required (snowshoes and microspikes might be used because of slushy snow).

About the activity
In summer, we meet at P2 in Skjeggedal and take the shuttle bus to start the hike at P3 to save some time and energy (normally it is possible from June-September but also depends also on the conditions on the road). However, be prepared, it can still take 7-9 hours to hike rest of the summer trail to Trolltunga! It is up to you and your motivation if you will see the first long uphill as the highway to hell or stairways to heaven. Either way, when you reach the top of the hill, you will be rewarded with milder hiking terrain and amazing views.
Along the way, several viewpoints will reveal how steep and beautiful is the valley under you. Of course, you will have several small stops for snack and drinks on the way. At the same time, your guides enhance your hiking experience with lots of good motivation, their local knowledge about the nature, local history and the best lunch & picture spots. During the tour, your attention is directed to many details that you would otherwise pass without noticing.
Soon, you will stand on top of the famous rock formation peeking out 700m above the valley. You can see the majestic blue lake Ringedalsvatnet and Folgefonna Glacier in the far distance. When you look to your right, you will notice that your guide is abseiling down to get the best shots of you. Yes, it is picture time! After the photoshoot you can enjoy a bit more time around Trolltunga and then we start to head back. By this time, you will already know that you have some good people by your side. The incredible views and your travel companions simply turn this hike into one of your most precious memories!
