FROM: Sandnessjøen.
Join us on a tour, "Petter on the Rock" is a 10-meter-high statue of the poet-priest Petter Dass, which depicts the poet-priest riding the Devil himself across the sea. The statue stands on a rock in the sea between Herøy and Sandnessjøen and must be reached by boat
We take you to an adventurous spectacle and a historical insight.
With Rib we visit "Petter on the Rock" a 10-meter high statue on the Raudholmgalten rock in Herøy. The statue shows the poet-priest Petter Dass from the myth "The Devil as a horseman", when the parish priest rode the Devil himself to deliver a sermon in Copenhagen. With the Bible in hand, the priest screams at the Devil: "Higher up and further ahead, your Satan!"
We start in Sandnessjøen, surrounded by fantastic mountain peaks and a vibrant harbor.
We sail out to Herøy, along Dønna and the legendary Dønnamannen, further into Herøy and Engan before we set course for Svartskjæret.
The statue is made of bronze and was made by artist Frode Lillesund. It stands on Raudholmgalten, "in the middle of the elements" with the Seven Sisters mountain range on the island of Alsta as a beautiful and dramatic backdrop.
We pass a series of chalky white beaches, where you can stroll along the white sand and admire the turquoise waters framed by high mountains. It is a perfect place to relax and take some beautiful photos.
This tour is a fantastic way to experience the highlights of Helgeland in a relaxed and pleasant setting. Book now for an unforgettable adventure!
