Enjoy an evening under the stars surrounding the campfire with us. We will bring you closer to the Sami Culture with a delicious meal and stories around the campfire in our Lavvo.
Just outside of Mosjøen is Sjåmoen, a local open-air area that is also used by the reindeer herders for collecting and separating reindeer. You will be close to the wilderness in this tour! Experience the special atmosphere when all light disturbances are gone and only the starry sky and the headlamp illuminate the way. We are met by the host who welcomes us and hands out the equipment. We will walk out to our lavvo, a traditional dwelling used by the Sami people.
Inside the lavvo, it is warm and cozy, and the smell of venison stew is amazing. The evening's hosts gather you around the fire and serve a delicious meal with local ingredients. After the meal, the host willingly talks about local culture and history. There will be time for questions and a good conversation. Outside, darkness has descended and perhaps we are lucky enough that the northern lights or the moon show us the way back to our transport back to Mosjøen.
