Kayak Course in Kristiansand – learn to paddle with confidence and ease

Want to try kayaking but not sure where to start? Then this course is for you. You'll get a complete introduction to safe and effective paddling, in calm and scenic surroundings in Kristiansand.

This course is designed for beginners who want to learn paddling in a safe and supportive environment. We start on land with a thorough introduction to equipment, technique, and safety. Then we head out on the water to practice what you’ve learned – at your own pace, with close guidance throughout.

You will learn:

• How to get in and out of the kayak with ease
• How to use your paddle correctly and steer effectively
• How to paddle forward efficiently without overexerting
• What to do if you capsize, and how to re-enter the kayak safely
• How to stay balanced and feel secure in the kayak

We use stable, comfortable kayaks, and all necessary equipment is included. The course is suitable for adults of all ages and youth from age 14. No prior experience or special fitness level is needed – only a desire to learn something new and enjoy nature.

The course lasts about 3 hours and is held in small groups of up to 8 participants per instructor. This allows for personal follow-up and individual feedback. After the course, you will receive the

Våttkort, a national paddling certificate issued by the Norwegian Canoe Association. This card allows you to rent kayaks in many places across Norway and join other courses or guided trips.
