Moutain Snowshoe Trip

Take on the Arctic winter landscape with a guided snowshoe tour through some of Lofoten’s most dramatic and peaceful mountain terrain. We’ll explore Glomtinden or Kleppstadheia, choosing the most suitable route the day before based on snow conditions, avalanche risk, and group ability. Led by a local expert and professional photographer, this is an unforgettable experience in the heart of a snow-covered paradise.

Lofoten in winter is nothing short of magic. Snow-blanketed peaks, glittering fjords, and total silence. Whether the trail is powder-packed or a mix of snow and bare rock, we adapt each day to make the most of the conditions. If the snow isn’t ideal at sea level, we may hike to higher ground to find it—or combine hiking and snowshoeing for a hybrid adventure. No matter the mix, it’s always about enjoying the mountains safely and fully.

Our routes aren’t defined by difficulty levels. Instead, the distance we cover and how high we go depends entirely on the group. You don’t need snowshoeing experience, and snowshoes and hiking poles are included in the cost. We move at a steady pace that suits everyone, with regular stops for photos, water, and to take in the views. Our guides are trained to read both the trail and the group, so the experience stays safe, flexible, and fun.

This is a 5-hour tour, with around 1 hour of transport included. The snowshoe season runs from January through April, though conditions vary. If snow is limited, we offer a hybrid snowshoe-hiking experience so you’re never missing out.
