About the experience

With the world’s largest sailing Colin Archer ship.

Join us on a cruise to the Trollfjord with the world’s largest sailing Colin Archer ship M/S Hestøy.

Trollfjord is Lofoten’s most visited destination. Here you can see precipitous mountains that rise more than 1,000 meters straight out of the sea.

In addition to the dramatic scenery, the Trollfjord is also known for the Trollfjord Battle, which is very central to northern Norwegian fishing history. The stories about the Trollfjord have fascinated and inspired a number of famous writers and artists, such as Johan Bojer, with the book “The Last Viking”, and the paintings of painter Gunnar Berg.

On our trip to the Trollfjord, we sail through Raftsundet, which has a very large population of sea eagles. This is Northern Europe’s largest eagle, with a wingspan of up to 2.65 m. We have fish with us to feed the sea eagle, so that it will be a good opportunity for the guests to take pictures of the majestic eagle up close.

The ship M/S Hestøy, which is the world’s largest sailing Colin Archer ship, is in itself an experience, and a piece of sailing Norwegian coastal culture. This wooden ship has an exciting history and a lot of soul in it. The ship has very good deck space and an inviting salon.

Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are sold here – as well as various snacks. During the cruise we serve a delicious local fish soup with bread.

Along the way, a local guide will tell us about the Trollfjord and the places and sights we encounter, as well as Viking stories and stories about life in Lofoten.

A short stop for fishing can be made on request.
