Join us for a guided visit to a local seafood factory, hold a live king crab and get a taste of fresh seafood.
The fishing industry has always been North Cape’s number one source of income, closely followed by tourism.
Departing from Honningsvåg by van, we will take you for a short drive to a locally owned seafood factory. As the largest exporter of live king crab in the world, the owners prefer the term seafood factory over fish factory. Stockfish, klipfish, king crab, wild salmon, roe and many types of fresh fish are exported to more than 50 countries worldwide.
Prepare yourself for a close encounter with one of the largest crustaceans in the world, as you will have the chance to hold and photograph a live king crab. Additionally, you will learn all about the stockfish, one of the most important products in the history of the Norwegian economy.
Finally, we will finish the tour with a seafood tasting in the specially designed tasting room of the factory.
