Welcome to mountain camp 2026 – Adventure awaits from June 22nd 2026!

Join us for an exciting week in the mountains! In collaboration with Valdres Friluftsråd, we invite adventurous children aged 10 to 13 to five days of fun activities in the beautiful nature around Beitostølen – including an overnight stay.

Here, children will have the opportunity to explore, play, and learn in stunning mountain surroundings. The outdoor school is a fantastic arena for developing social skills, making new friends, and experiencing a sense of achievement. Nature also provides relaxation, sparks creativity, and fosters independence – all while we have fun together!

Program

Day 1 – Monday, June 22nd

Day camp at Beitocampen

⏰ 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Drop-off & pick-up at Beitocampen)

10:30 AM – Climbing park

12:00 PM – Lunch (bring your own packed lunch)

1:00 PM – Setting up camp

3:00 PM – Pick-up/departure

Packing list: Packed lunch and drink, wind/rain jacket, optional thin gloves for the climbing park

Day 2 – Tuesday, June 23rd

📍 Day trip to Storøya – Orienteering, Outdoor Rights & First Aid

⏰ 10:00 AM – Meeting point at Beitocampen

Overnight stay at “8-kanten”

Dinner: BBQ at Beitocampen – please inform us of any allergies

Activities: Swimming in Øyangen & sauna for those who wish

Evening fun: Campfire & marshmallows

Theme: Outdoor rights & responsible travel in nature

Packing list:

• Packed lunch, water bottle
• Sleeping bag, sleeping mat
• Swimwear, towel, toiletries, change of clothes
• Wool base layer, hat, mittens
• Life jacket, fishing rod, headlamp

If any participant is missing equipment, please contact us in advance, and we will arrange it (e.g., sleeping bag, fishing rod, life jacket).

Day 3 – Wednesday, June 24th

Breakfast at 9:00 AM – Everyone helps prepare breakfast in the shelter

Fishing at Øyangen – from boat & shore

Theme: Fishing, harvesting, outdoor rights, rest areas & campsites

Pick-up at Beitocampen at 3:00 PM

Day 4 – Thursday, June 25th

Mountain climbing at Heklefjell & Cave Exploration

10:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Meeting point & pick-up at Båtskaret)

• Headlamp
• Wind/rain jacket
• Optional thin gloves for climbing

Theme: Expedition & adventure

Day 5 – Friday, June 26th

Mountain hike to Mugnetind

10:00 AM – Meeting point at Beito Aktiv Office / Welcome Center

3:00 PM – Pick-up at Beito Aktiv Office

Theme: Map reading & hiking skills

• Sturdy hiking boots
