Walk - Between bridge and flowers
What makes a landscape magical? How does nature affect us – and how do we affect it?
About the experience
What makes a landscape magical? How does nature affect us – and how do we affect it?
Join us for a gentle walk from Nordland National Park Centre, across the suspension bridges at Roparneset and towards the entrance to Junkerdalsura. Along the way, we explore a cultural landscape rich in history and biodiversity.
At Roparneset, we encounter traces of past settlements, including a Sámi dwelling site, a mountain farm and traditional hay meadows. Here, we share stories of how people have lived in close connection with nature – and why these flower-rich meadows are so important for insects and biodiversity.
The walk ends at the entrance to Junkerdalsura, one of Norway’s most botanically significant areas. Here, you will learn about its unique flora and the botanist Søren Christian Sommerfelt.
