Cider tasting by the Sognefjord

In about 1.5 hours, you will get an insight into fruit growing, cider production, and hear more about the family farm's impressive history going all the way back to 1184 - the Battle of Fimreite, the bloodiest battle in Norwegian history between Magnus Erlingsson and King Sverre.

You get to taste different ciders and fruit wines from Odelsgut - made with real love and with fruits from the farm, as well as a small plate of local food.

(Alcohol-free alternative is possible)

You don't have to come to us in nice clothes, be a wine expert or have training as a pommelier. The most important thing is that you are thirsty for new adventures and ready to taste what cider really is.

Here you will meet a pleasant and committed host who will give you an experience you won't soon forget.

How to get to Fimreite:

Road or sea to Fimreite - which is only 21 km outside the center of Sogndal.

​

Every Saturday in season from and including 3 June to and including 26 August, it is possible to rent an electric bike from the center of Sogndal or Vesterland (Kaupanger) - cycle to or from Fimreite (approx. 1h-1.5h).

Before or after the cider tasting, you travel safely back to the center of Sogndal by sea - with the Fjord X ferry.
