See all dates and details for this experienceAbout the experience
Take a RIB ride to the roadless village and climb the world's longest wooden staircase! The tour lasts 4 hours and you can either walk all 4444 steps or the equally exotic short version. Our high-speed RIBs allow you to visit the remote village, walk the stairs and return back to Stavanger in one day.
Flørli is a small roadless village with an exciting history of hydropower and the world's longest wooden staircase. The tour starts in Stavanger city centre where you will meet one of our skilled skippers who will go through the safety instructions and equip you with the necessary safety equipment. When everyone is comfortable and ready on board, we set course for the fjord.
The road towards Flørli leads towards the Lysefjord where we get close to nature, culture and wildlife. If we are lucky, we may encounter porpoises, seals and sea eagles! The trip to Flørli takes 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Once at Flørli, the fittest can climb the world's longest wooden staircase of 4444 steps, or you can opt for the short version of 750 steps. Whether you make it to the top or not, the views are breathtaking and the surroundings are breathtaking.
If you would rather just sit and enjoy the silence and the view, you can sit down with a cup of coffee and just let the peace and quiet sink in. We can offer a simple lunch or full dinner if desired at Flørli. After a 4-hour stay at Flørli, we head back to Stavanger.
ATTENTION: Climbing the stairs to the top is a demanding hike and is recommended for experienced hikers.
There are also other activities to do at Flørli. You can stay overnight, rent a canoe, relax in the lake or maybe walk over the mountain to Kjerag? For more information see www.florli.no.
