About the Tour:
Dreaming of spending a night in untouched Norwegian wilderness but unsure where or how? Fjord Active has created a unique adventure suitable for everyone, regardless of experience.
Join us for an unforgettable overnight adventure at the majestic Tunsbergdalsbreen. The tour begins with a scenic boat ride across Tunsbergdalsvatnet, before we set out on a hike into the valley. Along the way, we stop at our camp to prepare for the highlight of the day: the glacier experience.
At the glacier’s edge, we put on safety gear and receive instruction on how to use it. Then we’re ready to explore the ice – with plenty of time to discover magical formations like caves and tunnels. For those seeking extra adventure, we can even try ice climbing in a safe area!
After a day full of experiences, we return to camp, where a warm meal awaits before you settle down in the quiet of the lavvu. The next morning, enjoy coffee, tea, or hot chocolate with views of the glacier, before walking back to the boat and returning with memories to last a lifetime.

Practical Information:
A more detailed packing list will be sent out before the tour, but in general, you should bring:
What to bring:
- Waterproof clothing (e.g., Gore-Tex)
- Sturdy hiking boots (preferably waterproof)
- Insulating layers such as a wool/fleece sweater or a down/fiber jacket
- Hat and gloves
- Sunglasses and sunscreen
- Food for 2–3 meals (lunch, dinner, snacks)
- Drinks (water can be refilled at the lavvu)
- Wool/fleece base layers
- Sleeping bag and sleeping mat (can also be rented from us)
- Large backpack for carrying equipment
- Optional: dry and warm clothes for the evening
We provide:
- Engaged and professional guide
- Glacier equipment (harness, crampons, ice axe, helmet, and rope)
- Tent / lavvu for overnight stay
- Dinner
- Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate
