Back in the 1970s and 1980s, Haugesund was a hotspot for top-tier Norwegian football. Several local clubs competed at the highest level, and English teams flocked to the city for pre-season matches. Clubs like Everton, Aston Villa, West Ham, Fulham, Southampton, and Norwich drew near sell-out crowds every time they played.
In the late 1990s, FK Haugesund was founded, and ever since, they’ve been a strong presence in Norwegian top-flight football.
Your experience starts with a walking tour through charming Haugesund, where you'll see the famous Marilyn Monroe statue and the iconic pink Town Hall.
Then we head to the stadium, where you’ll dive into this rich football history. Hear incredible stories from one of our local heroes who once faced off against some of the English greats. Go behind the scenes on a guided tour of the modern Haugesund Stadium – with complimentary coffee and tea served during the visit. We’ll also stop by the FK Haugesund Store so you can pick up your own shirt, scarf, or cap.
The tour ends with a walk passed the library and the church, and ends with a visit to The Viking Planet – a state-of-the-art digital Viking museum. Tickets are included.
