Membership at Øygarden Climbing Center

The first climbing center in Øygarden municipality is rustic and not the largest, but very cozy. We have built it in a boathouse with high ceilings. We have tried to maintain the boathouse atmosphere and feel we have succeeded. Here is a good climbing environment, a climbing environment with heart.

We have a separate bouldering room, four main walls, two children's walls, overhangs, and a campus wall. Here you can come and go as you please, as a member you get your own code to the door and can climb anytime day or night all year round as long as you have a climbing certificate course.

Why on earth should we have a climbing center on Toftøy?

Primarily, it's because we have the world's finest rock climbing opportunities on our islands out here in the open sea. We also have a lot of rain in the fall and winter out here, but in the summer, climbing life is great and accessible from Toftøy to Hellesøy. There are climbing walls and routes along the entire northern part of Øygarden. We lacked an alternative for autumn, winter, and rainy days, and now we have it. Climbing has become a popular sport, and it's nice to finally be able to do it year-round.
