Membership in Øygarden Sea Kayak Center

Paddling, membership facility, group trips, wet card introductory and basic courses.

The first kayak center in Øygarden municipality is rustic and cozy. We have built it in a boathouse with high ceilings. We have tried to maintain the boathouse atmosphere and feel we have succeeded. There is a good paddling environment here. We have a separate social room, changing rooms, sea kayaks and equipment storage, floating dock, and running water for rinsing equipment after trips. Here you can come and go as you please, as a member you get your own code to the door and can paddle anytime day or night all year round as long as you have a wet card course.

Why on earth should we have a kayak center on Toftøy?

Primarily, it's because we have the world's rich sea with paddling opportunities all year round, around our islands out here in the open sea. It's a paddling paradise with routes along the entire northern part of Øygarden. We lacked such an offering out here, and now we have it. Sea kayaking has become a popular sport, and it's nice to finally be able to do it year-round.
