The Norwegian Hjørundfjord and the surrounding landscape is best enjoyed from a kayak.
They say you shouldn't compare beautiful fjords. Here on the west coast of Norway we have so many spectacular fjords that tourists often come from the other side of the globe to enjoy our landscape. Geirangerfjorden is, of course, the most famous of them all, but we would argue that Hjørundfjorden has just as many unique qualities. Additionally, you get to have a bit more solitude here. On our popular kayak trip in Hjørundfjorden you will experience magnificent nature, sharp peaks, powerful waterfalls and a rich history of people who have lived closely with the element–for better or worse–through generations.
Our trip starts in Øye at the end of Norangsfjorden, where the iconic Union Hotel is located. This is a perfect starting point for our journey. The day begins with a safety briefing, kayak adjustments and technique tips before we head out onto the fjord.
During this kayak trip, there's a good chance we might see eagles, porpoises or otters. In any case, we can promise you a brilliant natural experience that will create lasting memories.
