Tour description

Come and join us on a 3-hour guided tour in beautiful surroundings on Jølstravatnet with its high mountains and glaciers in Astrup's kingdom! On the tour you can see many of the motifs of the painter Nikolai Astrup (1880-1928). Jølster's nature has unique and spectacular contrasts, and seeing it from a kayak is a completely unique experience.

The guide will meet you at the boat harbor at Skei. Here you will receive the necessary instruction and adapted equipment for the tour. This tour will be completed in 3 hours, and is adapted for those who want to try kayaking or for those who have paddled a little kayak before. Along the way, you will also become better acquainted with the area around Jølstravtnet. On all our tours we use sturdy double kayaks.

All participants will receive the necessary equipment, this includes a life jacket, splash pad and paddle. Comfortable casual clothing is best suited for this tour. If there is a little wind or rain, we recommend a windproof and waterproof jacket. Please also bring a change of clothes as you may get a little wet.

Please contact us again if the time does not suit you, we often set up more tours upon request. Private tours are also arranged upon request. You must be able to swim to participate. Children from 6 years old are welcome to participate on the tour with an adult.

Practical information

Included: Life jacket, Paddle oars, Double kayak

No previous knowledge is required to participate, but everyone must be able to swim and be at least 6 years old. 1 child and 1 adult per kayak.

Clothing

Dress according to the conditions, but remember that in the summer it can be cold in Norway. Casual clothes that can withstand a little moisture and a rain jacket are good if the message shows a drop or two.
