About the experience
Experience Geirangerfjord in a unique way in a kayak and get close to the elements of nature! Combine an hour-long guided tour around the fjord via GPS in a small, green electric car with a peaceful journey on the fjord in a double kayak.
Would you like to experience the Geirangerfjord in a unique way, both from land as well as from the fjord? Combine an hour-long guided tour around the fjord via GPS in a small, green electric car with a peaceful trip on the fjord in a double kayak. When you pick up the car, you decide whether you want to drive the trip towards 1. Ørnevegen or 2. Flydalsjuvet.
Ørnevegen: First, drive through the village of Geiranger, along the fjord and up Ørnevegen (the Eagle's Road) which winds up the many hairpin bends to the famous viewpoint Ørnesvingen (Eagle's Bend). Here, you will get a fabulous view of the fjord, towards the magnificent Seven Sisters waterfall and small mountain farms. If you walk a few minutes from Ørnesvingen, you will find the UNESCO plaque and a path that leads to another incredibly beautiful vantage point, a little away from the traffic. Maybe it can be good to sit here for a while, to really "feel" the view and the eternal fjord.
Flydalsjuvet: This panoramic tour has several optional stops. First, you drive up towards the mountain in the east to Flydalsjuvet, where you can sit on a throne and enjoy the view of the fjord and dizzying depths. Furthermore, the journey goes up the green slopes towards the mountain farm Vesterås, where you get a magnificent view of the fjord and mountains.
During your kayak rental, you can explore the Geirangerfjord on your own, glide past steep cliffs and enjoy the view of the magnificent Seven Sisters waterfalls and small-scale mountain farms – this will bring you really close to the natural elements. The kayaks are stable, easy to paddle and turn, so you can relax and enjoy nature. No paddling experience is required, but energy, enthusiasm and good humour will be useful!
The actual kayak rental takes place at Homlong, and you can either walk for about half an hour or borrow a bike from Geiranger centre to get there. Let us know in the text field if you want to borrow a bike!
